Keepin’ It Real

21 Nov

Almost a week late but for my first “Let’s Keep it Real” moment imagine this…

At the doctors office, getting an ultrasound when the lady asks us to turn our heads so we don’t the “parts.”  Adam and Jayden begin to have a conversation to distract themselves from wanting to look at the computer.

Adam says, “Hey Jayden, the rest of the day is a Daddy Day!”

Jayden quickly replies, “Yeah!  Mommy isn’t home!  Let’s watch movies, eat junk food and have some BEERS!”

My face turns white as I am completely mortified, Adam is trying so hard not to laugh and the doctor stop and looks at us wide-eyed and doesn’t know what to say.  All I am thinking about is how to make this completely awkward moment go away.  Instead of giving some sort of explanation, I laughed and said, “Kids say the silliest things, don’t they!?”  And the appointment ended.

So to keep it real, our son says things that are totally inappropriate in public at times.  Please don’t judge us.  He’s only 4.  He’s not the only one, is he?

I’m glad I didn’t take a sip of water before I read this one, Kear. TB says all kinds of inappropriate things. You are not alone. 😉
