A Day In The Life Of…. Maria plus 1!

4 Jul

Last week I mentioned I would be profiling a few of woman (and hopefully 1 man) about what a day looks like in their home.  The whole purpose of this series is to see the difference in daily schedules from a stay-at-home mom, a mom living in the city and a family with two traveling, working parents.

First up, meet Maria.  Maria is a working Mom with 1 child, The Boy (as she refers to him in the blogging world).

Name: Maria

Child: The Boy, Age 4

Occupation: Senior Water Resource Planner, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Best Advice for a New Mom:  Relax.  She wrote a post about this over at her own blog, check it out!

Maria’s Day

4:30-5:15 AM – Wake up, daily Bible reading, prayer, check email/twitter

5:15-6:15 AM – Eat, shower, get dressed for work, pack lunch

6:15-6:45 AM – Take the metro to work, read on the train

6:45-3:15 PM – Work, including lunch, snacks, etc.

3:15-4:00 PM – Metro home (it always takes longer the other way), read or relax on the train

4:00-4:15 PM – Drop my stuff off at home and either get back on the metro or in the car to pick up TB (Monday) or go for a run

4:15-4:45 PM – Pick TB up from the bus (camp) or run

5:00-6:15 PM – If I was running, I get back during this time, make dinner, eat and clean-up

6:15-7:00 PM – Play and have fun with TB, prep things for tomorrow

7:00-8:00 PM – Get TB ready for bed, read books to him

8:30 PM – I go to sleep

Tired yet?  The 4:30 AM wake up call would do me in for the rest of the day!

Maria also mentioned that this routine she has gets thrown on the window on Wednesday’s when she teleworks from home and has a track workout.  If you would like to see a more detailed day in the life of Maria, check out her blog post.

OK. Now I feel slightly misleading, because I also have Kevin helping and playing, but I didn’t mention him specifically. LOL! Oh well. I’ll be doing another post once fall comes and TB is out of camp. 🙂

Don’t worry, when I do the wrap up I’ll be sure to mention Kevin 🙂
